Established in Kyoto in 1937, Shibunkaku has been committed to the inheritance, promotion, and cultivation of outstanding Japanese art, literature and culture.

We are honored to share era-transcending Japanese aesthetics both in Japan and across the globe. Through fine art, antiquarian books and publishing, Shibunkaku aims to present works of the highest-quality and valuable historical materials. Having developed extensive expertise in a wide variety of genres and time periods, we hope to transcend borders and offer original, yet timeless perspectives based on thorough understanding of the past.

We offer artworks ranging from pre-modern classical hanging scrolls and folding screens, to modern and contemporary paintings and ceramics, among others, to private, public and corporate clients.
